Buyer Evaluations
I am a seasoned amazon shopper and I have never written a review. I have to say that I was impressed. This item was shipped to me in the Caribbean in the time frame it was offered to reach to Miami. I received everything just like in the image. I was most shocked with the backpack I received. It is an good quality red back pack which is even nicer than the a single shown in the pic. I would advise anyone to purchase this I will be ordering 2 much more very soon.
Simply because I travel so a lot via the mountains of the Pacific Northwest for my job, I figured I'd far better invest in some kind of emergency or disaster "kit"... just in case I get stranded due to inclement climate.
Immediately after substantially time spent researching similar kits, I opted for the Mayday four-Individual Deluxe Emergency Backpack Kit even though I am only one-quarter that many consumers. Heh. The kit shipped extremly rapidly and I am rather pleased with the actual item. I have, even though, made a couple of adjustments due to how I will be working with the kit -- mainly as an "emergency vehicle" backpack I can rapidly grab ahead of my out-of-town excursions.
Below is a list of most of the items included and my initial response to every. Thoughts you, I am not an outdoors or wilderness survival "specialist" by any signifies. Just your typical individual who drives an typical auto in not-so-typical climate at times.
Backpack: Big. Sturdy. Need to last very a whilst. Much superior excellent than I expected.
4 two,400-calorie energy bars with a U.S. Coast Guard-authorized five-year shelf life: Like yellow-wrapped bricks. I'm confident they do the job, but I took most of them out and replaced them with Clif bars and jerky.
4 solar blankets: Have in no way utilized these ahead of but am confident they'd perform in a pinch.
Four three-packs of water: Nice addition, although I supposed I could always melt the snow.
4 dust masks: Useless for me.
4 rain ponchos: Not the very best excellent, but they are meant to be utilized once/twice and disposed of.
Flashlight: Pretty, pretty low cost. So had been the "Code Red" batteries. Replaced with a a lot more heavy-duty flashlight. I did purchase some emergency candles -- surprised none were included, truly.
12-hour light stick: Just a single? Glow sticks are inexpensive. Will finish up buying a few extra along with some flares.
54-piece 1st help kit: Merely an OK standard kit. If a bear mauls me, I am out of luck, but I suspect most anyone would be, eh?
50 water purification tablets: A good addition.
50 waterproof, strike anywhere matches: Good! Will use them with the candles I bought.
Utility knife: Low cost, but certainly useful.
AM/FM radio with batteries: Incredibly low-cost and tough to hear.
Camp stove: Not positive why this was included, as nothing to cook WITH is present. No pot/pan/utensils/can opener/canned food. Not at all beneficial for me, even though I could invest in extra equpiment to make it valuable.
Leather work gloves: Inexpensive but will do the job.
